Two Inverse problems for analytic potential systems
In this paper, we solve a basic problem about the existence of an analytic potential with a prescribed period function. As an application, it is shown how to extend to the whole phase plane an arbitrary potential defined on a semiplane in order to get isochronicity.
متن کاملOn two problems concerning the Zariski topology of modules
Let $R$ be an associative ring and let $M$ be a left $R$-module.Let $Spec_{R}(M)$ be the collection of all prime submodules of $M$ (equipped with classical Zariski topology). There is a conjecture which says that every irreducible closed subset of $Spec_{R}(M)$ has a generic point. In this article we give an affirmative answer to this conjecture and show that if $M$ has a Noetherian spectrum, t...
متن کاملInverse nodal problem for p-Laplacian with two potential functions
In this study, inverse nodal problem is solved for the p-Laplacian operator with two potential functions. We present some asymptotic formulas which have been proved in [17,18] for the eigenvalues, nodal points and nodal lengths, provided that a potential function is unknown. Then, using the nodal points we reconstruct the potential function and its derivatives. We also introduce a solution of i...
متن کاملInverse boundary problems for elliptic PDE and best approximation by analytic functions
Inverse boundary data transmission Cauchy type problems for two dimensional elliptic PDE can be efficiently approached using best constrained approximation schemes in Hardy (Hilbert) classes of analytic functions bounded on the domain’s boundary. Such recovery results and algorithms generalize the classical planar links between harmonic and analytic functions (of the complex variable). Specific...
متن کاملTwo examples concerning almost continuous functions
In this note we will construct, under the assumption that union of less than continuum many meager subsets of R is meager in R, an additive connectivity function f : R → R with Cantor intermediate value property which is not almost continuous. This gives a partial answer to a question of D. Banaszewski [2]. (See also [12, Question 5.5].) We will also show that every extendable function g : R → ...
